Preparation: After milking and prior to main wash, rinse equipment with clean water and run to waste.
Automatic use: For circulation cleaning, prepare solution at a concentration of 100g per 40 L of hot water. Circulate solution for 8-10 minutes at a temperature of 76-80˚C.
Descaling: Equipment (milk tubes, teat cup liners) should be checked periodically and descaling should be carried out periodically following cleaning activities. Check integrity of rubber components and seals monthly.
Final rinse: It is an offence to allow chemical agents to get into milk. After cleaning with Cipsan and before the equipment is used again, it must be thoroughly rinsed with clean water. Food industry rinsablity testing shows that a 10 minutes exposure of tiles to 3 times the recommended use dilution of Cipsan left no residues in excess of 0.0001μg/cm2 chlorine.
Cipsan passes stringent British Standards test BS EN 1276 (Quantitative suspension test for the evaluation of bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas) at use a 1 in 250 dilution. This means that at use dilution Cipsan can achieve a 100,000-fold reduction in bacterial populations with only 5 minutes contact time under dirty and hard water conditions. For pre-cleaned items the same bacterial kill can be achieved at much lower concentrations.
